<br />8. Upper Colorado Resource StudY (Colorado and Utah) <br /> <br />a. Sponsoring Agency - Bureau of Reclamation. (planning <br /> <br /> <br />activities for this study were accomplished in <br /> <br /> <br />accordance with the U.S. Water Resource councils' <br /> <br /> <br />principles and Standards of 1973. Under this concept, <br /> <br /> <br />planning was performed by a MUltiobjective planning <br /> <br /> <br />Team and included representation of all interested <br /> <br /> <br />water related agencies (Federal, State and local and <br /> <br /> <br />from the general public.) The Colorado Water <br /> <br /> <br />Conservation Board was represented on the MOP team and <br /> <br /> <br />on several of the work groups responsible for providing <br /> <br /> <br />input on various aspects of the Study. <br /> <br />b. The Concluding Report was published in may 19BO. <br /> <br />c. Objectives of Study <br />(1) Provide water for the most likely and projected <br />levels of production from specific oil shale <br />tracts leased from the United" States in Colorado <br />and Utah. <br />(2) Provide municipal water to oil shale industry <br />support populations. <br />(3) Provide water for Indian lands in Utah. <br />(4) Provide water for irrigation in Colorado and Utah. <br />(5) Improve fisheries and recreation opportunities. <br />
