J <br /> <br />ClI <br /> <br />as from here power is distributed to the entire building by means of <br /> <br />cables in the vertical cable shaft which goes down through the building, <br /> <br />and through conduits, other shafts and openings to the ~pper rooms. <br /> <br />Also on this floor is another ventilation fan, the air compressors for <br /> <br />service to the building, the water filtering and oil filtering room, <br /> <br />the oil storage room and two (4500 gallons per minute) turbine-type <br /> <br />deep well pumps for unwatering the plant in case of flooding. Ample <br /> <br />space has been provided in order that the power transformers may be <br /> <br />brought in and set down on this floor and serviced. The next floor <br /> <br />at elevation 8252 is for the storage of spare parts and supplies. <br /> <br />Immediately below this floor is the motor room at elevation 8211. It <br /> <br />is a most impressive room with the three completely housed 6,000 <br /> <br />horsepower motor~ their e~c~tation equipment ip adjoining cabinets <br /> <br />and a 25-ton crane which serves this and the lower floors. The motor <br /> <br />-'., <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />room is large and spacious, and much more impressive when it is realized <br />," <br /> <br />how far it is underground.
