LYMAN PROJECT, WYOMlNG

SYNOPSIS

The Lyman reclamation project is contemplated as a means of improving
the irrigation water supply, and thus of bettering agricultural production,
on lands near the town of Lyman in Bridger Valley, a part of the Upper.
Colorado River Basin in southwestern Wyoming, The project plan is corre-
lated with a broad plan for the fullest possible development of the land
and water resources of the Upper Colorado River Basin. The project is
among the first developments recommended by the Upper Colorado River Com-
mission for participation in the benefits and revenues of the Colorado
River Storage project, the master project in the plan for upper basin
development. Additional ini'ormation on the relation of the Lyman project
to the storage project andover-all basin development is given in the
Bureau of Reclamation report Of September 1950, entitled Colorado River
Storage Pro~ect and Partici~ting Pro~ects.

The information contained in this synopsis is substantiated in more
detail in appended reports prepared by the Bureau of R.eclamation, Fish
and Wildlife Service, and National Park Service, the only Federal agencies
sufficiently affected to participate directly in the investigation.
Authority to make this report and supporting investigationlil is provided,
