C)
C)
'\1
C.)

1 \u(.

Water Supply Studies - Yellow Jacket Project and Rocky Mountain Power Company

Project on the White River, Colorado

The'purpose of the studies is to determine the effects of the activation

of the Meeker Power Ditch water right upon the water supplies of the Yellow

Jacket Project.

The studies consist of two parts: Condition A was done by the U.S.B.R.

in Grand Junction and assumeB the Yellow Jacket Project to be senior to the

Rocky Mountain Power Company Project. Condition B studies were done by the

C.W.C.B. and assumed the 1957 filings of the Rocky Mountain power Company to be

senior to the yellow Jacket Project and the 1964 Rocky Mountain Power Company

Project filings to be junior to the yellow Jacket Project. In both conditions

A and B, three cases were Btudied:

Case I - The Meeker Power Ditch not active.

Case II - The Meeker Power Ditch active at its original location.

Case III - The Meeker Power Ditch rights transferred to the Highland Ditch.

The shortages in water supply which would occur to both the Yellow Jacket

Project and the Rocky Mountain Power Company were determined for the three cases

of both conditions A and B.

With the exception of the assumption of seniority of water rights of the

two projects ~n question, the assumptions uBed by the Bureau of Reclamation

for condition A were used for Case I, II, and III. These assumptions are as

follows:

Case I - Without 180 c.f.s. power decree.

1. Storage features

A. Ripple Reservoir, 18,000 A.F. active capacity

B. Lost Park Reservoir, 20,000 A.F. active capacity

"

.

..rl..... .

\,.:-.
