ConcJ.usions <br /> <br /> <br />1. GeneraL The proposed pJ.ans are in accord vith Congressional <br /> <br /> <br />directives and. the terms of the Water Treaty of 1944. The pl.an of <br /> <br /> <br />seJ.ective PUllIPing presented in Part VII of this report is engineer- <br /> <br /> <br />ingly feasibl.e and v1ll provide a reduction in the peak dissolved <br /> <br /> <br />solids concentrations in Colorado River vater delivered to Mexico <br /> <br /> <br />at MoreJ.os Dam. If Phase J. construction is authorized. by March 1963 <br /> <br /> <br />and-a-crasb-program ~n~t~ateo., construction can be substantialJ.y <br /> <br /> <br />completed by October J.963 and. the peak salt concentrations reduced <br /> <br /> <br />to approx1:mately 2,000 ppm during the \linter of J.963-6lt-. <br /> <br /> <br />Construction of vorks contempJ.ated in Phase 2 vi11 reduce the <br /> <br /> <br />pellk salinity concentrations in vater deJ.ivered to Mexico to about <br /> <br /> <br />J.,800 ppm, provide fJ.ood protection to project vorks, reduce non- <br /> <br /> <br />beneficial phreatophyte uses, and provide better reguJ.ation of vater <br /> <br /> <br />deliveries to Mexico. <br /> <br /> <br />Phase 3 construction v1J.l provide integration of ground-vater <br /> <br /> <br />pumping vith the river reguJ.ation provided by Senator Wash ReguJ.atory <br /> <br />v <br />
