Septmber 17, 1993 Page 51 Linkages With Other Tasks This task is part of the Project's Information Development focus area and would complement and be coordinated with Task 4 (Inventory) to insure complete coverage of topic areas and efficient use of meetings. The Information Development focus area would build upon the results of Scoping and would precede the Model Development and Opportunities Evaluation focus areas. The results of this task would be used in the Opportunities Evaluation phase to model the yield of various conjunctive use scenarios alone and in combination with other studied opportunities. Likely Sources of Information To Be Used Conduct of this task will involve meetings with existing and potential groundwater users which may include Aurora, the Arapahoe County Utility Advisory Board, the Douglas County Water Resources Authority, the State Engineer's Office, the State Land Board, the Denver Airpon Authority, Denver Water, USGS and others. In the course of this process, relevant groundwater aquifer data, well data, recharge investigations, and existing facilities data would be gathered. It will also be necessary to identify existing demand centers and to project future groundwater-dependent demands. This data would be used in the formulation and analysis of conjunctive use options which may include local conjunctive use with and without recharge, larger scale conjunctive use with full integration of surface water supplies in wet years and groundwater use in surface water systems in dry years. Anticipated Problems A large number of groundwater-dependent providers will have an interest in this subject. It will be necessary to use existing County-sponsored forums to efficient! y obtain input and share results; one-on-one meetings with each provider will be prohibitively costly. Deliverables The Project Team with the assistance of the key groundwater interests the State Engineer, Denver Water and Aurora would prepare a repon on conjunctive use options. This repon would summarize the results of the meetings and investigations listed above, the issues and concerns associated with each of the systems integration options and the analysis of the feasible options. The repon would include water supply yield results under alternative design and operational scenarios, and a preliminary identification of physical facilities requirements and institutional issues. Cost The initially estimated budget for this task is $40,000.
