In the arid States of the West, the irrigation <br />'ojeo-t. undertal<en by or with the aid of the Federal Government should <br />I svery instanoe be based upon a full oomplianoe with the laws of the <br />,ate wherein the projeots are looated so far as the appropriation of <br />.ter and other matters of purely state control are ooncerned." <br /> <br />At a 8ubsequant meeting of the League held at Denver on August <br /> <br />; -27, 1920. the desirability of encouraging the construotion of large <br /> <br />,servoirs in the Canyon of the Colorado River was approved upon oon- <br /> <br />ction however, that the respective ritftt. of the seven statel and of <br />to the future use and benefit at the waterfl of the Colorado River, <br />Ie United States/should first be settled and determined by oompaot and <br /> <br />;reement between the states and the United States and the follovring re- <br /> <br />olutions were unanimously adopted: <br /> <br />"BE IT RESOLVED. That the resolutions adopted at the Conferenoe <br />r the League held at Salt Lake.
