The cost of maintaining the transmountain diversions
and tunnel was not economically feasible for agricultural use, In drought conditions, these offsets
may not be available and a reduction in the number of farmable acres is possible,

ECONOMIC IMPACTS. Once the Pueblo
Reservoir Winter Storage Program was decreed, the Highline shareholders felt an adequate supply
was available and sold the remainder of the Busk.lvanhoe System. Pueblo actually spent the
$5,359,000 for the Las Animas Town Ditch which was then traded for the 50%,
Information from Bud O'Hara, Water Resources Division Manager, Pueblo Board of
Waterworks, 11/23/92 and 12/22/92 and Doug Kemper, Water Resources Manager, City of Aurora,
12/11/92; research by Kevin Pratt; impacts by Bill Milenski.

( )
"-_/

A2-13
