However, because of shortage of the remaining supply from Colorado Canal, <br />some water was consolidated and some lands dried up. Colorado Springs acquired most of its shares in 1972. Pueblo West acquired shares <br />in 1970-1971. Aurora continues to acquire shares, <br /> <br />PRICE -Small numbers of Twin Lake shares have sold for as much as $10,000. Aurora <br />purchased shares in 1992 for $3500 per share. Colorado Springs purchased its shares for $1,500 <br />per share in 1972. Pueblo West has recently offered to lease 4300 shares for between $40 and $60 <br />for a ten one year periods to the Division of Wildlife, During the past two years all excess Pueblo <br />West shares were leased to irrigators and Aurora. Until 1989 Pueblo West had been unable to lease <br />all of its extra shares, The Pueblo Board of Water Works annually leases excess shares at auction <br />to irrigators and others. <br />One share is considered to yield, in an average year, 1 ac. ft. of transmountain water and <br />0.1 ac. ft. of native Arkansas River water. Native water yield for the system ranges from 10,000 <br />ac. ft. yr to 125,000 ac. ft, yr.
