It would be 12 miles long,
including about 4 miles of unlined earth sections, 7 miles of earth-lined
sections, and 1 mile of concrete bench flume and siphons.

There would be about 15 miles of laterals in the Milk Creek Segment.
The largest of these would be the l2-mile-long Iles Lateral, having an
initial capacity of 20 second-feet and a terminal capacity of 5 second-
feet.

White River Feeder Conduit

The 11.7-mile White River Feeder Conduit would have an initial ca-
pacitv of 300 second-feet and a 90-inch diameter from the diversion dam
to the Lake Avery Turnout. From the turnout to the Oak Ridge Tunnel, it
would have a capacity of 160 second-feet and a diameter of 66 inches. It
would be buried and designed to operate year-round.

The Oak Ridge Tunnel would penetrate the ridge between Big Beaver
and Little Beaver Valleys at an elevation of 7,030 feet. The tunnel
would be about 3,024 feet long. It would be a concrete lined structure
of about 7 feet in diameter with a capacity of 160 second-feet.

Yellow Jacket and Oak Ridge Conduits

The Yellow Jacket and Oak Ridge Conduits would be buried pipelines.
The Yellow Jacket Conduit would be 15 miles long, have an initial capac-
ity of about 125 second-feet, and an initial diameter of 60 inches. The
Oak Ridge Conduit would be 9.1 miles long, have an initial diameter of
42 inches, and a capacity of 35 second-feet. The size and capacity of
each conduit would decrease in size with each successive turnout. About
16.7 miles of lateral would be associated with the Yellow Jacket Conduit
and about 5.5 with the Oak Ridge Conduit.

Avery Pumping Plant

The Avery Pumping Plant would consist of six electrically operated
pumps with a capacity of 160 second-feet at a total design head of 235
feet.

Fish and Wildlife and Recreation Features

Provisions for fish and wildlife and recreation in the plan are
described previously under project plan.

Economic aspects

Estimated construction costs for the MOP compromise plan are
$79,800,000, considerably less than those needed for the previous plan.

59
