<br />"~ <br />~ . ~,-'1 <br /> <br />-'., <br /> <br />~ released to supplement usable natural and return flows diverted by new <br />t'- and existing canals and ditches. <br />...... <br />~~ New project canals will include the Dolan Mesa Canal from Savery Creek <br />and the Pot Rook Canal from the Pot Hook Reservoir. Two major laterals <br />will branch from the Pot Hook Canal and new laterals will be constructed <br />to serve the new full irrigation service lands. Drains will be provided <br />as needed. <br /> <br />Dead and inactive storage pools will be available in both the Savery and <br />Pot Hook Reservoirs for recreation and fishing, and minimum flows will <br />be maintained for fishing in Savery Creek. Recraational facilities will <br />be provided at both the Savery and Pot Hook Reservoirs. Rangelands below <br />the project area will be improved for wildlife habitat to compensate for <br />the lands utilized for water storage in the two reservoir basins. <br /> <br />Some Federal and State lands will be provided to permit enlargement of <br />the smaller existing farms and to prOVide some new farm uni ts. Settler <br />assistance will be provided as part of the project development. <br /> <br />ALTER~TIVES <br /> <br />The project presented for authorization was primarily a single-purpose <br />irrigation development with some recreation and fish and wildlife benefits. <br />Modifications to the plan has reduced the irrigable area served by the <br />project, and increased recreation and fish storage pools in the two reser- <br />~irs.
