<br />l;'") , <br />t'- <br />~ <br />~ <br /> <br />March 1973 <br /> <br />SUMMARY SHEET <br /> <br />v <br />SAVERY-POT HOOK PROJECT, COLORADO-WYOMING <br /> <br />LOCATION <br /> <br />The Savery-Pot Hook Project is located along the Snake River Basin in <br />Moffat County in northwestern Colorado and Carbon County in southern <br />Wyoming. The Town of Baggs, Wyoming being near the center of the project <br />area. <br /> <br />CURRENT STATUS. <br /> <br />Authorized for construction September 2, 1964 as a participating project <br />of the Colorado River Storage Project by Public Law 88-568. Advance <br />planning studies were initiated in FY 1966 and the Defini~e Plan Report <br />was completed in January 1972. <br /> <br />Progress--Funds in the amount of ~250,OOO were included in the FY 1971 <br />budget appropriation authorized by Congress and signed by the President <br />for initial construction. These funds have not been released. <br /> <br />A completed environmental statement is presently being reviewed by all <br />interested parties for comment. <br /> <br />Repayment Contract negotiations with the Little Snake River Water Conser- <br />vancy District of Wyoming and the Pot Hook Water Conservancy District of <br />Colorado in March 1972. <br /> <br />Funding <br />General investigation <br />Advance planning <br />Contributed funds <br /> <br />~306,925 <br />767,857 <br />2,400 <br />~l,077 ,182 <br /> <br />PROJECT PLAN <br /> <br />Unused flows of the Little Snake River and its tributaries, Savery Creek <br />from the north in Wyoming and Slater and Willow Creeks from the south in <br />Colorado, will be developed for irrigation, recreation, and fish and <br />wildlife. Flood control will also be provided by the regulation of two <br />storage reservoirs. <br /> <br />The storage and regulation provided by Savery Reservoir on Savery Creek <br />in Wyoming and by Pot Hook Reservoir on Slater Creek in ColoradO.will be <br />
