<br />capture other squawfish to determine reproductive condition and also <br />determine if any of the fish that have passed through the Redlands fish <br />passageway are associating with spawning fish. <br /> <br />Companion fishery surveys of the Gunnison River from Delta to Redlands <br />Diversion Dam will be conducted twice in FY 98 to look for Colorado <br />squawfish released upstream of the dam. Two electrofishing craft will <br />systematically sample the river downstream. <br /> <br />VII. Task Description and Schedule <br /> <br />Description <br /> <br />Task 1. Radiotag up to five adult Colorado squawfish caught in the <br />Redlands Diversion Dam fishway trap or from the 2.3-mile <br />reach of the Lower Gunnison River immediately downstream <br />of the Redlands Diversion Dam. <br /> <br />Task 2. Deploy automatic radiotelemetry system. monitor movements <br />of radiotagged fish. download and operate radiotelemetry <br />system. <br /> <br />Task 3. Monitor fish trap; sort. examine. and enumerate all fish; <br />clean trash and debris from trash racks. bar screens. fish <br />trap. and fishway entrance. <br /> <br />Task 4.
