<br />o [l G 5 (/t <br /> <br />DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE <br />PROPOSED PLAN AND THE PRE- <br />FERRED AL TERNA TIVE <br /> <br />The proposed plan varies from the Preferred Alternalive <br />in the following ways, The plan: I) recommends Cross <br />Mountain as suitable for inclusion in the National Wilderness <br /> <br />Preservation System; 2) recommends four wilderness study <br />areas currently being evaluated under Section 202 of the <br />Federal Land Policy and Management Act-Ant Hills, Chew <br />Winter Camp, Peterson Draw, and Vale of Tears-as <br />nonsuitahle for wilderness designation, but they would be <br />forwarded to Congress for final decision; 3) administers Wild <br />Mountain as an extensive recreation managemenl area; 4) <br />revises the definitions of compatible and excluded uses for <br />each Management Priority Area; and 5) recommends two <br />areas for disposal that were previously recommended for <br />retention. <br /> <br />S-3 <br />
