<br />actions and exchanges), except sales under Section 203

<br />302 leases and JS"ermits would be allowed, Conveyance
<br />actions would be precluded in wilderness and other
<br />special management areas,

<br />New policy revoking authority to authorize sanitary
<br />landfills would be applied, This policy is a result of
<br />potential federal liability associated with hazardous
<br />waste dumping on BLM-administered land. Should
<br />operators of existing sanitary landmls, authorized under
<br />an R&PP lease, choose to contioue operation of the
<br />facility upon termination of the existing lease, land-
<br />tenure adjustments could occur.

<br />b. Disposal-Iand-tenure-adjustment actions would be
<br />allowed on approximately 6,670 acres of public land
<br />that mee't the criteria for disposal under applicable
<br />authority (see Appendix 24 in the Draft RMP /EfS),
<br />This acreage includes land-tenure-adjustment actions
<br />(i.e,. disposal by sale under Section 203 of FLPMA)
<br />for Ihe existing BLM-authorized sanitary landfill sites
<br />near Oak Creek and Maybell located within the
<br />retention area, Section 302 leases a'nd permits would
<br />also be allowed,

<br />2, Acquisition of public land, would be pursued, based
<br />on identified resource values and needs (see Map 2),
<br />
<br />3, BLM would continue to review existing withdrawals
<br />and to make recommendations based on resource values
<br />and need, Ot~er agency relinquishments would be
<br />processed promptly, V.S, Fish and Wildlife Service.
