Colo~ado <br />June 2, 1987 <br /> <br />This report summarizes the Commission Staff activities since the <br />Adjourned Regular Meeting of the Uppe~ Colorado River Commission held <br />on March 24, 1987 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. <br /> <br />Commission Appointment <br /> <br />On March 24, 1987, Governor Mike Sullivan transmitted a letter to Chair- <br />man Jack Ross appointing Mr. Go~don W. Fassett to replace M~. Floyd A, Bishop <br />as Wyoming's Commissioner on the Upper Colorado River Commission. Messrs. <br />Dan S. Budd and Aa~on H. McGinnis will continue to se~ve as Wyoming's Alter- <br />nate Commissioners. Governor Sullivan also indicated that Mr. Geo~ge L. <br />Christopulos will continue to serve as an adviser to Wyoming's Commissioner. <br /> <br />A copy of Governor Sullivan's letter to Chairman Ross was sent to each <br />of the Commissioners and Advisers on March 27, 1987. <br /> <br />Operation of Colorado River Reservoirs <br /> <br />The Bureau of Reclamation's recommended Water Year 1987 Annual Operating <br />Plan (AOP) for the Colorado River Reservoirs has generally been accepted by <br />representatives of the seven Colorado River Basin States through June 1987. <br />The AOP for the remainder of Water Year 1987 must still be developed and <br />agreed to by the States and the Bureau of Reclamation. A Federal/State <br />Colorado River Management Work Group has been meeting co develop the AOP <br />for the remainder of Water Year 1987 and recommended procedures for preparing <br />and evaluating future AOPs. <br /> <br />On March 31, 1987 several representatives of the Work Group met in <br />Salt Lake City to discuss and prepare a redraft of the Work Group report. <br />Although a redraft of the report was not prepared, general agreement was <br />obtained on material to be included in the report. To date a redraft of the <br />Work Group's report has not been distributed. Once that report is prepared <br />and distributed to Work Group members, it is anticipated that a Work Group <br />meeting will be held to finalize the report and develop the Work Group's <br />recommendations concerning the AOP for the remainder of Water Year 1987. <br /> <br />In an April 27, 1987 News Release, the Bureau of Reclamation described <br />the "Upper Colorado Region Predicted Reservoir Operations 1987."
