Current schedules call for the delivery of project water beginning in the spririg of 1987. Location of SCS Study Area. The study area includes all of the "full service" lands in the BJR Dove Creek Area for W1idJ. the Bureau of Reclamation is providi~ project water. This area, approximately 27,750 acres, is located in Dolores am Montezuma Counties, Colorado, and is about 20 miles northwest of Cortez, Colorado. This study does not include the "full service" lands on the Ute MJuntain Reservation near Towaoc as final decisions to W1at acreage will be irrigated is IIDknOl<Kl nor the M:>ntezuma Valley Supplemental service area (see map fig. 1). There are approximately 170 farms within the SCS study area. These farms are located in seven construction blocks. Each block will be treated separately by the Bureau of Reclamation.
