)

sections were established along the Gunnison River, and five were established along the
Colorado River.

Tasks 10 & 11 - Topographic Survey of Green, Colorado, and Gunnison River sites -
Topographic surveys were perfonned at all sites, endpoints were located, tops of banks
were defined, and any channels or flooding features were identified. Maps of the sites with
2-foot contours were generated for each site. Note: Mapping for three sites on the Green
River has not been completed. The Slaugh site was surveyed near the end of the fiscal
year, and the Snow and Brady properties were surveyed after the end of the fiscal year.
In addition, the two Colorado River sites were also surveyed at the end of the fiscal year.

Task 12 - Hydrologic Analysis of the Gunnison and Colorado Rivers - An initial hydrologic
analysis has been completed for the Gunnison River. A hydrologic analysis has not yet
been completed for the Colorado River at this time.

Task 13 - Floodability of the Green River Sites - The f100dability analysis for the
Rasmussen site has been completed and the results transferred to the Fish and Wildlife
personnel. The flood ability of the three Green River sites surveyed in the late summer and
fall have not yet been completed.

Task 14 - Floodability of the Colorado and Gunnison River Sites - This task has been
completed for the two Gunnison River sites. This task has not been completed for the
Colorado River sites. A hydraulic model will need to be developed for the Colorado River
sites which were surveyed in the fall.

Task 15 - Transfer of Results - A short letter report has been written to Dave Saker and
other FWS land acquisition personnel which documents the flood ability assessment at
each site done during runoff season 1997. The sites which were surveyed this fall have
still not been completed. At some of the sites, assistance from a BR surveying crew may
be necessary to document the location of property boundaries for the purpose of
assessment.

FLO Proiect #10600.4 Tasks. Carryover from 1996:
Task 7 - Construction Oversight - FLO Engineering, Inc. provided construction oversight
at three sites on the Green River. The Bonanza Bridge site and Stirrup site on BLM lands
near Vernal, Utah. Appropriate flooding elevations were checked throughout the
construction phase and the proper placement of spoils materials, etc. was monitored.
Photo documentation and construction notes are available upon request.

Task 8 - Post Construction Surveys - Post construction surveys were conducted at each
of the three modified bottomland sites. In addition, permanent cross sections with
monuments were established at each bottomland opening for future monitoring of erosion
and sedimentation. Initial results indicated deposition of up to two feet near the mouth of
the Bonanza Bridge bottomland and up to one foot near the mouth of the Stirrup
bottomland. This deposition was enough to increase the initial flooding elevation at both

3
