Project Title: ASPINALL STUDY-Synthesis of studies conducted for the
Biological Opinion on the operation of the Aspinall Unit.

II. Principal Investigator(s):

Frank K. Pfeifer. Project Leader
Charles W. McAda. Fishery Biologist

764 Horizon Drive. South Annex A
Grand Junction. It is critical that participants
begin the consolidation process for these diverse. but related
studies.

This scope of work began the process of consolidating the information
currently being collected throughout the Gunnison and Colorado rivers
that is directed toward the Aspinall Biological Opinion.

IV. Study Schedule: 1995-1997. Final Report 1998

V. Relationship to RIPRAP: Colorado River Action Plan: Gunnison River:
I.A. Initially identify year-round flows needed for recovery: and
V.A. Conduct research to acquire life history information and
enhance scientific techniques required to complete recovery actions.

VI. Accomplishment of FY 97 Tasks and Deliverables. Discussion of Initial
Findings and Shortcomings:

The major accomplishments of 1997 involved coordinating among the
different researchers, assigning tasks. and ensuring that deadlines
were consistent with RIPRAP deadlines for the Aspinall Biological

1
