<br /> <br />This packet was prepared <br />to provide background for <br />the key publics specified <br />in the GCP Act, as well as <br />interested publics and <br />other stakeholders, so <br />they can assist the SLCA <br />in identifying <br />economically and <br />technically feasible <br />methods of replacing <br />power generation lost at <br />GCD. <br /> <br />Proposed Schedule <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Replacement Resources Process <br /> <br />The Replacement Rllsources Process will identify economically <br />and technically fea~ible replacement resources. It will also <br />address transmissil~n system enhancements required to deliver <br />these resources an? the environmental impacts of both. <br /> <br />Public Consultation <br /> <br />The formal public consultatihn process to identify replacements for lost <br />hydroelectric resources be, g~n August 8, 1994, with the publication of a <br />Federal Register notice (FRN) (59 FR 40357-403591. This packet was <br />prepared to provide backgrqund for the key publics specified in the GCP <br />Act, as well as interested puplics and other stakeholders, so they can <br />assist the SLCA in identifying economically and technically feasible <br />methods of replacing power generation lost at GCD. <br /> <br />The SLCA is committed topublic participation throughout this process, <br />The objectives of this participation are to: <br />I <br />. Ensure public involvem~nt activities are commensurate with the level <br />of interest and concern ~xpressed by the interested publics. <br />i <br />I <br />. Inform stakeholders and the public of actions/activities under consid- <br />eration and obtain their! Involvement in the identification process. <br /> <br />. Ensure issues and concerns raised by interested publics are addressed. <br /> <br />. Conduct a clear and open public Involvement and technical review <br />process. <br /> <br />.
