<br />3. Federal Highway Administration, DOT,Division Office. <br /> <br />Comment: The environmental statement indicates that Morrison <br />Road (U.S. Highway 285) will require relocation. Actually the location of <br />currently numbered U.S. 285 was coordinated with the Bear Creek project, <br />State Highway 8 will require relocation. It is suggested that Plate 2 <br />be updated to show the correct highway numbers and locations. <br /> <br />Response: The bedy of the statement was revised to show <br />the current highway numbers and locations, Morrison Road is no... nUlllbered <br />State Highway 8; Plate No.2 indicates that it previously was numbered <br />State Highway 8 and U.S. 285. West Hampden Avenue is currently numbered U.S. <br />285; at the time of its proposed relocation, it was to have been an extension <br />of State Highway 70. Plate 2 will not be revised at this time. Rather, when <br />the statement is updated at a later date an updated plate will be included. <br /> <br />Comment: Until such time as our own environmental problems <br />concerning proposed routes of 1-470 are resolved,none of the proposed <br />locations can be considered as "firm", <br /> <br />Response: The environmental statement was revised to indicate <br />that none of the proposed routes for 1-470 is firm. <br /> <br />Comment: The noise pollution generated by the proposed <br />highway can be minimized by proper location and design of our facility <br />with respect to yours. Air pollution will be reduced by technological <br />advances in design of internal combustion engines as required by the Air <br />Pollution Control Act. <br /> <br />Response: With respect to noise pollution, general <br />concurrence is expressed with the above comment. This can be worked <br />out during design of this portion of the project. With respect to <br />th~ comment on air pollution, no response is offered. <br /> <br />4. Bureau of Mines, U.S.D.I. <br /> <br />Comment: Our' current review indicates no significant <br />changes or additions to our earlier review of your June 1970 environmental <br />statement on this project. <br /> <br />Response: The information contained in the bureau's <br />earlier reviews was utilized in the preparation of the present environmental <br />statement. A copy of their August 1970 letter is also inclosed with this <br />statement. <br /> <br />5. Bureau of Reclamation, U.S.D.I. <br /> <br />Comment: The Bear Creek Lake project does not influence or <br />affect the bureau's activity or future plans. <br /> <br />15 <br />
