.

.

-......;~

In our state, the Arizona Water Resources Committee is a
citizen's group that has played an extremely important role
in giving public support to research and operational activities
of numerous agencies involved in the Arizona watershed Program.
Through this Committee, agencies of the executive branch of
Government are assured of wisely directed support from the
legislative branch of Government. A more complete description
of the Arizona Water Resources Committee was given last August
at the 18th Annual Meeting of the Soil Conservation society of
America in Utah (Arnold, August, 1963).

starting with Arizona, a survey of states should be made
to determine the availability of citizen organizations that
can help achieve maximum application of sound conservation
practices. Through this means, the time, talents and energies
of citizens across the Nation can be enlisted to carry forward
the Platform for American Conservation that is finally approved
by this Fifth American Forest Congress.

REFERENCES

Arnold, Joseph F. 1963.
