<br />The cost-sharing agreement between the Federal Government
<br />and the States of Colorado and New Mexico calls for

<br />$137,970,000. These funds were assigned by purpose for

<br />The Animas La Plata Water conservancy must hold an election
<br />within the District on the repayment contract for the
<br />project. This election is scheduled for the fall of 1987.
<br />This contract was negotiated between the Federal Government
<br />(Bureau of Reclamation) and the local district over the
<br />course of the past couple of years and finally signed on
<br />June 11, 1987. There will also be repayment contracts for
<br />the Southern Ute Indian Tribe, the Ute Mountain Ute Indian
<br />Tribe, and the San Juan Water Commission.
