Jencsok <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />September 15, 1995 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />October 10 and 20, 1995, Special Board Meetings - <br />Endangered Fish Recovery Program <br />Preliminary Notice, Water Division 6, Yampa River, Moffat County <br />Water Division 5, Colorado River, Mesa County <br /> <br />The attached Preliminary Notice includes recommendations from the Fish and Wildlife <br />Service (FWS) and the Colorado River Recovery Implementation Program for the appropriation <br />of endangered fish recovery instream flows for the Yampa River from its confluence with the <br />Williams Fork River to the Little Snake River1 in Moffat County, and for the "15 Mile Reach" <br />(i.e. between Palisade and Grand Junction) of the Colorado River near Grand Junction in Mesa <br />County. <br /> <br />The purpose of the special Board meetings on October 10, 1995, in Craig and on <br />October 20, 1995, in Grand Junction will be to consider the FWS flow recommendations, <br />evaluate the physical and legal availability of water pursuant to See, 37-92-102 (3), CRS (1990), <br />consider the staff's recommendations for the appropriation of instream flow water rights for the <br />recovery of the endangered fish, select a preferred approach, and advance the resulting instream <br />flow recommendations to Final Notice Status for action at the special Board meeting on <br />December 1, 1995, in Denver, Colorado. <br /> <br />This Preliminary Notice constitutes the start of the public review process defined in <br />Sections 12.00-12.03 of the Colorado Instream Flow and Natural Lake Level Program's Rules <br />and Regulations (ISF Rules). <br /> <br />] The Board may extend the instream flow segment downstream to the Dinosaur National <br />Monument boundary and upstream to Craig. <br />
