0328

.

11ere, the social impacts are defined from a specific pOlicy
or programmatic perspective which we have chosen to be the
definition of social impact in the broadest, most comprehen-
sive sense. Complementing this analysis is the review of
ancillary social impacts which are related to the economic
and environmental consequences which have important social

components, thereby achieving synthesis (from the social

assessment perspective) with these other considerations.

These matters will be further operationalized in the following

.

section.

To conclude, the Social Impact Assessment will reach

a conclusion based upon analyses of 23 disaggregated areas of
concern; integrated analyses of these areas under each of the

tnrce project alternatives; assessment of the consequences

under the three assessments concepts; and, ancillary, synthe-

sized socio-economic and socio-environmental considerations.

We now turn to the consideration of how to conduct such

an assessment.

17
