the Dolores Tunnel will be plowed for project maintenance and
operetion purposes which will provide limited eccess to the
reservoir.

b. Ice Fishing

The McPhee Reservoir surface may freeze during an average winter
season. Ice fishing will be allowed on the reservoir. However,
use will be limited by the availability of access points. Use
will be monitored by the Colorado Division of Wildlife and the
Forest Service to avoid conflicts with wildlife.

c. Snowmobiling

Snowmobiling is restricted to the reservoir's frozen surface and
to roads outside of the seasonal closure areas.

d. Snowshoeing and Cross-Country Skiing

These activities are permitted throughout the Management Area
except within the seasonal closed wildlife management areas,
where use is limited to winter closed roads, and trails
specifically designated to these uses. If future use increases
to a point that causes conflicts with wintering big game herds,
these winter activities may be curtailed in the wildlife
management areas.

12. Public Health and Fire Protection

The Forest Service meets State standards in providing water
treatment, sewage treatment and solid-waste disposal.

Potable water is available at both McPhee Recreation complex and
House Creek Recreation Area.

The Forest Service is responsible for fire protection for all
lands within the McPhee Reservoir Management Area and provides
protection, detection, and initial attack on all fires.
