<br />.' <br /> <br />\. , <br /> <br />( ~ <br /> <br />34fd03. <br /> <br />Definitions. <br /> <br />(1) "Domestic \'iater and sewage treatment system" means a Vlastewater <br />treatment plant, water treatment plant, or water supply system and any system <br />of pipes, structure, and facilities through which wastewater is collected for <br />trea tment. <br /> <br />(a) "l~astewater treatment plant" means the facil ity or a group <br />of units used for treatment of wastewater from sewer systems and for <br />the reduction and handling of solids and gases removed from such <br />wastes. <br /> <br />, <br />t <br /> <br />(b) "Hater supply system" means the system of pipes and struc- <br />.tures and facilities through which a water supply is obtained, treated <br />and sold or distributed for human consumption or the system of pipes <br />and structures and facilities through which water is obtained which <br />will be exchanged or traded for water which will be used for human <br />consumption. <br /> <br />(c) "\Jater treatment plant" means the facil ity or facil ities <br />within the water supply system which can alter the physical, chemical <br />or bacteriological quality of the water. <br /> <br />(2) "Major extension of an existing domestic water treatment system" <br />means the expansion of existing domestic water treatment plants, or any <br />extension of existing water supply systems to service an additional population <br />equivalent of twenty (20) persons or the equivalent thereof in other <br />a rea';. <br /> <br />(3) "Major extension of an existing sewage treatment system" means <br />any modification of existing sewage treatment plant to increase hydraulic capacity <br />or upgrade treatment capability or any extension of existing main collector <br />sel'ler lines or any increase in capacity of existing main sel'ler lines or any <br />extensions to service a population of twenty (20) or more people or the <br />equivalent thereof in other uses. <br /> <br />(4) "Source area" means a geographic area or region \'Ihere moisture <br />falls and drains through natural processes to either streams or lakes or <br />pen:1eates to the groundwater table, analogous to catchment basin or \'Iatershed. <br /> <br />- 38 - <br />
