<br />The $3,100 does not necessarily represent the total income received by the
<br />farm family from operation of the farm business. In addition to return for
<br />labor and management, the farm family will receive a return on equity owned
<br />in the farm business. Return on investment owned by the operator, in addition
<br />to returns for labor and management, would be available for family living
<br />expenses, including income and social security taxes, savings, and retirement
<br />of debt.
