Total
System active storage as of the end of August was 51.460 million acre-feet (mat) or 86 percent of
capacity. which is 4.70 I mafless than one year ago.

September releases from Hoover, Davis, and Parker Dams averaged 19,700, 12,450 and
10,420 cubic feet per second (cfs), respectively. Planned releases from those three dams for the
month of October 2000 are 9,200,11,100 and 8,900 cfs, respectively. The October releases
represent those needed to meet downstream water requirements and to conduct dredging operations
above Morelos Dam.

The preliminary 2000 observed April through July 2000 unregulated inflow into Lake Powell
was 4.352 maf, which is 56 percent of the 30-year average for the period 1961-1990. The
preliminary observed unregulated inflow into Lake Powell for the 1999-00 water year was
7.310 maf, or 62 percent of the 30-year average.

The Lower Division states' estimated consumptive use of Colorado River water for calendar
year 2000, as estimated by Board staff, totals 8.539 maf and is projected as follows: Arizona,
2.857 maf; California, 5.383 maf; and Nevada, 0.299 maf. Estimated additional uruneasured return
flow credits of 0.247 mafwould reduce the total amount to 8.292 maf. For calendar year 2000, the
Central Arizona Project (CAP) is projected to divert 1.409 maf, of which 0.292 acre-feet is to be
credited to the Arizona Water Bank, and The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California
(MWD) is projected to divert 1.304 maf.
