.

.

.

Summarv of San Juan-Chama Water Storaae

The end of month storage status of SJ-C water in all reservoirs,
except Heron Reservoir, and the accumulated sediment deposition
adjustments for Abiquiu, Cochiti, and Jemez canyon Reservoirs are
illustrated in Tables 11A, lIB, and 11C (pages 11-13).

Evaporation Loss on Rio Grande Water Stored Above Otowi

The evaporation loss on Rio Grande water stored in El Vado and Abiquiu
Reservoirs is illustrated in Table 12 (page 14). There was no debit
water held in El Vado Reservoir during 1992, because the State of New
Mexico entered 1992 with a delivery credit according to the Rio Grande
Compact.

SAN LUIS VALLEY PROJECT

coneios Division - Platoro Reservoir

As of December 31, 1991, storage in Platoro Reservoir was 19,274 AF of
which 2,751 AF was transmountain water. With below normal
precipitation during the fall and early winter of 1991, and a below
normal spring runoff, inflow was captured resulting in a maximum
storage level of 44,964 AF at elevation 10017.88 ft. on June 28.
During the irriqation season, much of the inflow was bypassed and
between June 29 and November 4, approximately 21,640 AF was released
from s}orage for irrigation. On November 6, releases were reduced to
5.0 ft Is resulting in the year end elevation of 9990.93 ft. or 24,846
AF total content, of which 3,122 AF was transmountain water.

Closed Basin Division

Reclamation working under the guidance of the Closed Basin Operating
Committee has developed a working draft of the operating criteria
which is the framework for the management of Closed Basin operations
and water deliveries. The groundwater analyses, water accounting, and
water quality monitoring functions will continue to be performed by
Reclamation personnel while other operating and maintenance functions
are being contracted to the Rio Grande Water Conservancy District.

A total of 21,480 AF of project water was delivered to various points
of which 17, 130 AF was credi table deliveries to the Rio Grande
pursuant to the Rio Grande Compact. Table 13 (page 15) summarizes the
1992 operations of the project.

vi
