STATEMENT OF FUNCTIONS AND OBJECTIVES, PROCEDURES,

AND PROGRAM OF THE HYDROLOGY SUBCOMMITTEE, PSIAC.

FUNCTIONS AND OBJ ECTlV ES

,

1, To keep the PSIAC informed on hydrologic problems within the Pacific
Southwest area and to make recommendotions to that Committee for joint
action leading to their solution.

2, To exchange information among member agencies concerning new
techni ques, instruments, programs, publ ications and reports.

3. To consider and report on immediate and long-range needs for
hydrologic dato,

4. To encourage: (a) standardization of hydrologic definitions, terminology
and techniques; and (b) improved methods of collecting, processing, and
presenting basic data.

S.To encouroge coordination of hydrologic work in the Pacific Southwest
area.

6. To execute assignments from PSIAC on hydrologic problems.

PROCEDURES

1. The Hydrology Subcommittee shall meet not less than four times yearly,
preferably immediately preceding the meeting of PSIAC. The work
accomplished during each meeting shall be recorded in minutes and
reported to the PS lAC.

2, Task forces shall be appointed by the Subcommittee chairman as
necessary, and shall meet as required.

3. The work of the Hydrology Subcommittee shall be coordinated with
that of other PSIAC Subcommittees through joint meetings, and scheduling
and announcement of other meetings to facilitate attendance by members
of other Subcommittees.

4. The third meeting of each calendar year shall include:
(a) election of a new chairman and appointment of a secretary.
S, The fourth meeting of eoch colendar year shall include:
(a) review by retiring chairman of accomplishments during the year.
(b) outl ine of program for the following year by the chairman-el ect.
