Publ icotions: <br /> <br />Made revisions in the report "Limitations on Use of Sedimentation Data" and <br />arranged for its publ ication with the Hydrology subcommittee as a section in <br />the Handbook "Limitations on Use of Hydrologic Data". <br /> <br />3. Recently Initiated Projects: <br /> <br />During this past year, a questionnaire wos sent to the membership of the Sub- <br />committee in an effort to obtain opinions on the direction that future activities <br />should take. Opinions were almost unanimous that the Subcommittee should <br />accomplish much more than it has in the recent past, and several suggestions <br />were made for reorganization of the Subcommittee. <br /> <br />A task force wos appointed to develop a means of obtaining data on sedimentation <br />problem areas, There is a proposal that a list of problem areas be compiled and <br />circulated in an effort to encourage research into the rates and nature of erosional <br />and depositional processes in the Pacific Southwest. <br /> <br />Water Qual ity Subcommittee <br /> <br />1, Meetin!:ls: <br /> <br />The Subcommittee held four meetings at the same locotions as the parent <br />committee meetings, <br /> <br />2. General: <br /> <br />Since the Water Qual ity Technical Subcommittee was only recently establ ished <br />(May of 1962), this year's meetings were devoted primarily to developing <br />objectives, procedures and program and exchanging information. General <br />items which were covered in the meetings included: <br /> <br />a, Heard and discussed statements from representatives of member State and <br />Federal agencies on water qual ity related responsibil ities, These state- <br />ments were edited as to form, referred to a task force to review, and <br />returned to the authors with suggestions for expansion or condensation so <br />that they con be compiled later as an information document. <br /> <br />b. Heard and discussed at two different meetings the following presentations: <br /> <br />(1) Biolo!:licol Aspects of Water Quality by Crosswell Henderson, <br />Biologist, U. S. Public Health Service, Salt Loke City, Utah. <br /> <br />(2) Summary of Department of Interior Pro!:lress Report on the Qual ity <br />of Water in the Upper Colorado River January 1963, Will iam V. lorns, <br />U, S. Geological Survey and Cecil B. Jacobson, U. S. Bureau of <br />
