Continuing Projects <br /> <br />a. Publications in the Phreatophyte Library at Arizona State University <br />at Tempe, Arizona, were increased by 75 to a total of about 400. <br /> <br />b. The Subcommittee is compiling data on costs of eradication of phreatophytes <br />and the economics of water salvage or water conservation by these various <br />methods. <br /> <br />c. Studies relative to various methods of eradication of various species of <br />phreatophytes, and to the quantities of water that may be salvaged, are <br />being conducted by many different agencies under varying climatic water <br />tables, soils and plant conditions, <br /> <br />4. Recently Initiated Projects: <br /> <br />A task force on Plant Succession was nomed in order to meet a need for collecting <br />information on change in vegetative cover in phreatophyte areas, both natural and <br />as a result of the clearing operations. <br /> <br />Recreation Subcommittee <br /> <br />1. Meetings: <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />The Subcommittee held four meetings during the year.
