<br />Delivery of power
<br />
<br />Delivery of electric energy from the District's ~ystem to Basic
<br />Magnesium, Incorporated, was commenced June 6, 1!l42, the de-
<br />mand increasing to 15g,500 kw at the end of .June 1943, Such
<br />energy was supplied from Boulder to the extent permitted by the
<br />generating capability of the units assigned to the District's use
<br />and remaining after supplying the power requirements of the Dis-
<br />trict. The supply was supplemented by power from the Parker
<br />power plant after that plant WllS placed in operation on December
<br />13, 1942, The total use of Boulder energy by Basic Magnesium,
<br />Incorporated, during the contract year ending May 31, 1\\43 was
<br />472,421,049 kwhr which, under the Defense Plant Corporation's
<br />contract to Jlurchase a minimum of 1,100,000,000 kwhr during the
<br />year, left II balance of 627,578,951 kwhI' to be paid for by Defense
<br />Plant Corporation. although unused, The demand of the mag-
<br />nesium metallurgical plant during the month of .Iune 194:3 reac,hed
<br />105,884,021 kwhr and was increasing at the end of the fiscal year,
<br />Energy is being taken at a load factor in exces;; of 95 per cent.
