<br />The contract with the United States provides that unused firm
<br />energy within the District's allotment shall be sold by the Secre-
<br />tary of the Interior for the credit of the District after giving the
<br />City of Los Angele" the Southern California Edison Company,
<br />Limited, and the California Electric Power Company an opportu-
<br />nity to contract for such unu~ed energy in the proportion of 55
<br />per cent, 40 per cent, and 5 per cent, respectively, The several
<br />contracts for resale made by the Secretary for the benefit of the
<br />District are listed in table 4,

<br />The total of Boulder firm energy within the District's allotment
<br />estimated to he unused by the District up to May 31, 1945, is
<br />8,217,000,000 kwhr, Of this amount approximately 68,3 per cent
<br />has been resold for the credit of the District,
<br />From 1945 to 1976 it is estimated that 16,196,000,000 kwhI' of
<br />the District's Boulder energy will remain ulll"ed by the District.
<br />Of this amount it is estimated 335,000,000 kwhI' (2,1;';) will be
<br />resold under existing contracts leaving 15,861,000,000 kwhI' for
<br />future disposal.
<br />Table 5 shows, year by year, for the period ending May 31, 1943,
<br />the obligation of the District to pay for Boulder power, credits for
<br />resale of power, and net cost of pOll'er to the District.
