Portal 10,310 feet) <br /> <br />Location: - Three miles west of Berthoud Pass connecting the east portal of the <br /> <br />Jones Pass Tunnel on Clear Creek with the headwaters of Vasquez Creek On the <br /> <br />I10r.lh ~r/A/ /, /8t7 .h"'/ '/vne /, /f'57 <br />West Slope. ~vrh ..Parh/ .<:;~;?/h<'"/ d-?", /, /9'57 <br /> <br />Built: - Now under construction with completion date set for April 30, 1958. <br /> <br />Cost: - Estimated cost - $3,970,000. <br /> <br />Function: - To carry water diverted from the headwaters of the Williams Fork <br /> <br />River on the west slope through the existing Jones Pass tunnel back to the west <br /> <br />slope where it will be picked up by the Fraser River collection system, and <br /> <br />carried by it to the Moffat Tunnel for storage in and USe through East Slope <br /> <br />Reservoirs. <br /> <br />Design: - 7 ft. horseshoe section lined with concrete, 3.37 miles long. Maximum <br />carrying capacity 500 cubic feet per second. This same contract includes the <br />completion of the lining of the Jones --Pass tunneY, c-ompleted-in 1940,. so that <br />it will also have a maximum carrying capacity of 500 cubic feet per second. <br />
