Policies, Decrees <br />and Records, Division 2, Main Stem Arkansas River~ Colorado" which were authorized <br />by the Board of Directors at the April 18. 1968 meeting. A general discussion was ha.d <br />on the Brochure, and all agreed it should serve a very useful purpose in correcting mis- <br />understandings. which exist regarding State Statutes and River Calls, along with present~ <br />ing documented statistics involved in the Water Management of the River. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE: <br /> <br />Chairman Nichols stated the Committee had not met do to the fact the General Manager <br />had been in Washington, D. C. on Water Legislation} but that Mr. Thomaon had prepared <br />suggested Water Allocation Forms which are ready for review by the Committee. It was <br />agreed the Committee would meet on Thursday, May 23, 1968, at 10:00 a. m.. to review <br />the recommended Forms. <br /> <br />LEGISLATIVE: <br /> <br />Chairman Dilley stated he attended a meeting or the Legislative Council Water Committee <br />at the State Capitol Building, on April 29, and that a good portion of the meeting was de- <br />voted to the discussion of "abandonment". He reported that additional meetings will be <br />held in June and July. and felt it advisable the Southeastern Colorado Water Conservancy <br />District be represented at these Legislative Council Water Committee meetings. <br /> <br />RIVER ADMINISTRATION & EDUCATION: <br /> <br />Chairm~n Wagner expressed the feeling of the members of his Committee, that Brochure <br />#6 was a valuable addition to the series of Brochures developed by the District. He felt <br />it is an illustration of how the Southeastern Colorado Water Conservancy District can <br />assist the State Engineer. the Colorado Water Conservation Board. the Division of Nat- <br />ural Resources and others interested in the total utilization of our water resources. <br /> <br />ORCHARD MESA PROJECT: <br /> <br />President Nichols reported that on May 7, eighteen representatives from Conservancy <br />Districts~ U. S. Bureau of Reclamation and Ditch Companies toured the Orchard Mesa <br />Project in Western Colorado to determine what could be done to resolve the problems <br />before litigation is required. He said the matter is now being reviewed by Engineers <br />and Water Attorneys from Eastern and Western Colorado. <br /> <br />There being nothing further to come before the meeting, it was regularly adjourned at <br />2:55 p. m. <br /> <br />Respectfully, <br /> <br />Charles L.
