The Arkunsas
Valley Power System would be completed to full capncity in this final
stage of development, nnd o.bout 4 billion kilowntthours of hydroelectrio
power would be produced over a~d above that consumed by pumping.

Only rough preliminary investigntions have boen mado of this plan.
Further investigntions o.nd additionnl survoys are needed to dotermino
its feasibility.

Genernl description

Looo.tions of tho features included in the Maximum Physico.l Devel-
opment 0.1'0 shown'on exhibit '2, on page 23.

The Maximum Physicnl Development would inclurlo the Mo.ximurn Gravity
Diversion and o.~ditions to tho c011ecti0n, distribution, o.nd power sys-
tems thereof. Three roservoirs, Blue Meso., Gatevicw, o.nd Cebolla, woule
be constructed in the Gunnison River Basin. The Snpinero Pump Cnno.l
would co.rry wo.ter from So.pincro Pumping Plo.nts Nos. 1 o.nd 2 at tho upper
end of the Bluo Mosa Reservoir a disto.nce of o.bout 13 miles to a point
in Kezar Basin 3 miles southwest of 1010. where it would join the collec-
tion systom from the Gctoview and Cebollo. Resorvoirs. This system woule
include a tunnel at olevation 7,880 feet connecting the Gateview o.nd
Cebollo. Resorvoirs, 0. disto.nce of "bout 3 miles, o.nd 0. short co.nal o.bout
1/2 mile long and 0. tunnel 5 miles long diverting the combined waters
from Luke Fork o.nd Cebollo. Creek o.t elevation 7,775 feet from the
Cebolla Reservoir to the junction with the Sapioero Pump Cnnal in the
Kezar Bnsin,

From this junction the Kezar Bo.sin Canal nt elevation 7,735 feet
would carry the combined flow to a point 1/4 mile south of the con-
fluonce of the Gunnison Rivcr and Tomichi Creak. At this point a junc-
tion would bo made with a canal 1/2 mile long which would transport
vmter pumped by the Junction Pumping Plo.nt, southwest of Gunnison, from,
the Gunnison Rivor during periods of hi~h flow.

The water would then be carried by the Gunnison Pump Canal at ele-
vation 7,707 feet e. distance of 7 miles to the potential Gunnison No.1
Pumping Plant 3 miles east of the town of Gunnison. From this plant,
water would be co.rried 5 miles by a co.nal o.nd short tunnel to tho poten-
tial Gunnison No. 2 Pumping Plo.nt on Co.bin Creek. This pump would lift
the wnter in a 2-mile cano.l leading to 0. tunnel which would carry the

:5
