The silt load normally washed down by the <br />river tends to settle in the reservoir, thereby reducing <br />turbidity in the Fryingpan River below the dam. <br /> <br />(2) Slumping and sloughing of solution cavities developed <br />on the reservoir shoreline at Gyp Hill. Wave action and <br />annual fluctuation of the reservoir's water surface has <br />flushed out the backfill material of ancient, filled <br />sinkholes.
