.

.

Some changes, such as adding new facilities to the system, result in O&M
increases that are of a continuing nature. Some of the projected increase in
1982 is the result of additions at the Au1t and Archer Substations.

Other occurrences, such as the replacement of moveable property or doing work
that is required only once or on an infrequent basis, result in a significant
cost increase in a particular year and then do not affect future years. Over
$2,000,000 in O&M costs, for replacing an airplane and for eliminating
polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) from electrical equipment, were FY 1982 costs
of this type.

You can see that 1984 obviously is expected to have some infrequently
occurring O&M costs. Costs for succeeding years are actually at lower
levels. There is about $2,250,000 budgeted for Glen Canyon spillway repairs
during 1984.

8
