A portion of Arizona's unused <br />entitlement has been diverted to uses in California for the past <br /> <br />several years. <br /> <br />The CAWCD operates and maintains the CAP, which delivers Colorado' <br /> <br />River water to farms, cities, industries and Indian reservations in <br /> <br />Maricopa, Pinal and Pima counties. <br /> <br />The additional water contracted for by the farmer was increased <br /> <br />by approximately 61,000 af when the CAWCD Board of Directors <br /> <br /> <br />approved in-lieu recharge projects with three Maricopa County <br /> <br />agricultural districts at their April meeting. <br /> <br />-more- <br />
