I <br /> <br />Reclamation's technical and scientific dxpertise and resources <br />also need to be applied to the development "Best Management <br />Practices" and new technology for the most ffective and efficient <br />use of water, energy, land, and related reso ces through a <br />cooperative, cost-shared research and techn ogy transfer program. <br />The tenn "Best Management Practices," as ferred to in this <br />Strategic Plan, means the state-of-the-an or science practices that <br />are efficient and effective,practical, econo . cal, and <br />environmentally sound. Research for impro ed water treatment <br />technologies offers tremendous opportuniti . to recover <br />contaminated waters, augment water suppli ,reuse water, and to <br />effectively meet Safe Drinking Water Act Clean Water Act <br />requirements.
