Expand on cooperative programs in event State Legislature does not provide <br /> <br />adequate funds: <br /> <br />(1) In 1969, the Legislature appropriated $15,000 less than the amount <br /> <br /> <br />necessary to continue the Arkansas Valley study by the U. S. Geological <br /> <br />Survey. <br /> <br />(a) The Southeastern Colorado Water Conservancy District Board <br /> <br />may want to underwrite this $15,000 with the hope the Legislature <br /> <br />will approve a supplemental appropriation in the 1970 Session, and <br /> <br />thus permit the Analog-Dig.jjtal Computer Program to go on unabated. I <br /> <br />(b) The Board may wish to fund the $15,000 to insure the continuation <br /> <br />of this essential program. <br /> <br />(2) Enter into additional water supply - demand studies on a cooperative <br /> <br />basis to obtain more data faster than might be available under annual <br /> <br />funding of the Colorado Water Conservation by the State Legislature. <br /> <br />(3) Work on specific programs involving the Arkansas River Compact <br /> <br />Provisions, to perfect a more workable and realistic program in <br /> <br />behalf of Colorado and Kansas. <br /> <br />VIII. OTHER AGENCIES SUCH AS - SOIL CONSERVATION SERVICE, U. S. FOREST <br /> <br />SERVICE, GAME FISH AND PARKS, UNIVERSITIES, COLLEGES, ETC. <br /> <br />A. Contract with, or serve as cooperative or sponsoring agency for: <br /> <br />(1) Studies for improved use of water including time and amount. <br /> <br />-6- <br />
