nr;j'~d"1 ~ 7.
u.. f.s........

- 3 -

were used. Partial records were completed by correlation with

nearby stations for periods of concurrent records or otherwise

estimated as explained below. The stream flow records reflect
any increase in depletions that may have occured during the
study period because of expansion of irrigated acreage. No,

corrections for this increased use have been made because the

location, amount and time of occurrence of these increased de-

pletions are not definitely known. Modified flows at certain
stations under conditions of partial or full potential upstream
development are tabulated with the project discussion in later
articles of this report. There follows a detailed account of
the method of obtaining the historical flow at stations on the
San Juan River for the period 1934-1954.
1. Navajo River at Edith. Colorado.
The record of discharge for this station has been published
from June, 1934 to the end of the study period of this report,
September, 1954. For the months October through May of Water
Year (WY) 1933-34, ~the discharge was estimated on the basis of

nearby records and historical flows for these months.
2. San Juan River at Rosa, New Mexico.
Discharge records for this station have been published for
the entire study period. This station represents the flow of
the river at the Colorado - New Mexico state line.

3.. San Juan River near Blanco, New Mexico.

The discharge record for this station has been published for

the entire period of study. This station records the inflow to

the Navajo Reservoir.

,,..

.<-.

.'" ~(,,.~}i
