I <br />(, <br /> <br />President Nichols then recessed the meeting until 1:30. <br /> <br />1;1 <br />, <br /> <br />1968 BUDGET: <br /> <br />:,' <br /> <br />President Nichols declared that the hour being 1:30, a Public Hearing wou!.d be <br />held on the Proposed 1968 Budget, which had been tentatively approved at the <br />July 20, 196.7 meeting, and which had been publicly advertised in all newspapers <br />required by Law. He aSked if there were any persons present who had any <br />questions or objections to raise against the Budget. He then asked Budget Officer <br />James Shoun to read the Resolution. and hearing no objections. Mr. Shoun moved <br />the adoption of the Budget,. seconded by Young, and unanimously carried. <br /> <br />;.1 <br />;', <br />i I <br /> <br />(I <br /> <br />~ 1 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is the duty of said Board of Directors, (Section 16 of <br />the said Water Conservancy Act of COlorado). in each year to deter- <br />mine the amount of money necessary to be raised by taxation, taking <br />into conSideration other sources of revenue of the District, and to <br />fix a rate of levy which. when levied upon every dollar of assessed <br />valuation of property within the District, and with other re-venue, will <br />raise the amount required for the District to. supply funds for paying <br />expenses of organization, for survey. and plans, paying the cost of <br />construction. operating and maintaining the works of the District, not <br />exceeding one-half mill on the dollar prior to the delivery of water <br />from the works of the District; and. <br /> <br />: 1 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, James Shoun. a Director of the District. was appointed <br />by this Board of Directors to prepare the Budget for the year 1968, <br />and has submitted the same to the said Board, and the District ha. <br />caused to be published the requisite Notice of Hearing, <br /> <br />, I <br /> <br />1 <br />;,1 <br />..i11 <br />~. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Directors <br />of the Southeastern Colorado Water Conservancy District hereby <br />approves and adopts the Budget as submitted and appropriates the <br />fund. for the purposes shown within said Budget; and, <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED. that the Board of Directors of said <br />District does now determine that the amount of money to be raised <br />by taxation for .aid purposes for the year 1967, to be collected in <br />the year 1968, is $214, 290. 00,' and said Board of Director. does <br />hereby fix the rate of levy of four-tenths of one mill to be levied <br />upon every dollar of assessed valuation of property,' both real and <br />personal, within Southeastern Colorado Water Conservancy District <br />for the year 1967; and, <br /> <br />b I <br /> <br />~' <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of Directors of said <br />District does now certify to the Board of County Commissioners of <br />Bent. Chaffee, Crowley. EI Paso, Fremont,' Kiowa, Otero. Prow-era, <br />and Pueblo Counties, in the State of Colorado, said rate of four-tenths <br />of one mill, so fixed for said purposes of said District to be levied <br />upon every dollar as assessed value on all property within said .DIstrict <br />in said Counties as aforesaid; and does now direct that at the time and <br />in the manner required by law for le'lJ'ing of taxes for County purposes, <br />said Board of County Commissioners shall levy said tax of four-tenths <br />of one mill upon each dollar of assessed valuation of all property, real <br />and personal, within the District. in their respective Counties. in <br />addition to such other taxes as may be levied by such Boards of County <br />Commissioners; and . <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />!~..I <br />~-. <br />.. <br />,.
