<br />MONTANA <br />A State objective is to eliminate the major cause of point source <br />pollution through the state's Wastewater Discharge Permit Program and EPA's <br />Construction Grant Program. <br />Implementation of the Water Quality Bureau's five-year strategy which <br />includes the following: monitoring programs, correction/abatement programs, <br />and assessments of remaining problem areas (agricultural nonpoint pollution, <br />silviculture nonpoint pollution, mining nonpoint pOllution, residual waste <br />disposal pollution, and construction nonpoint pollution) will require continued <br />funding. Correction of Montana's water-quality problem is a goal for <br /> <br />water-quality managers and Montana's citizens. <br /> <br />NEBRASKA <br />To maintain adequate streamflow of acceptable quality to provide optimum <br />use for agricultural, municipal, industrial, and other beneficial uses in <br /> <br /> <br />cooperation with neighboring States. <br /> <br /> <br />NORTH DAKOTA <br /> <br /> <br />The State objective is to improve water quality to the standards specified <br /> <br /> <br />in various government regulations. Water quality is being addressed in the <br /> <br /> <br />statewide 208 study as well as other ongoing State and Federal programs. The <br /> <br /> <br />problems addressed in various studies will be resolved through the enactment of <br /> <br /> <br />new State legislation and administration of technical and financial assistance <br /> <br /> <br />programs. <br /> <br />SOUTH DAKOTA <br /> <br />South Dakota shall strive to increase and maintain water quality allowing <br />for present and prospective uses of surface and ground water. <br />The necessity of providing water of sufficient quality to meet a <br /> <br />designated beneficial use is recognized by requirements of South Dakota and <br /> <br />G-52 <br />
