There were an estimated 500 acre-feet of Red willow <br />Creek flows used downstream from Red Willow Dam for irrigation of non-pro- <br />ject lands under senior water rights. <br /> <br />The annual precipitation was 84 percent of normal at Medicine Creek Darn <br />while the inflow was slightly above the dry-year forecast. The water sup- <br />ply was adequate for the diversion of 38,995 acre-feet for 16,628 acres <br />served by the Cambridge Canal. <br /> <br />The 1974 gross crop value from the lands served by Meeker-Driftwood, <br />Bartley, Red Willow, and Cambridge Canals was $17,012,026, as co~pared to <br />$11,778,196 in 1973. <br /> <br />There were 388 acre-feet of storage from Hugh Butler and Harry Strunk <br />Lakes sold under temporary contracts to private irrigators in Red Willow <br />and Medicine Creek valleys. <br /> <br />1975 OUTLOOK <br /> <br />The carryover storage and 1975 flows are forecasted to turnish an adequate <br />water supply to irrigate 43,850 acres in"the Frencrunan-C~ridge Irrigation <br />District. It is estimated that 16,160 acres will be served f~om the Meeker- <br />Driftwood Canal, 16,630 acres from the Cambridge Canal, 4,780 acres from <br />Red Willow Canal, and 6,280 acres from Bartley Canal. <br /> <br />AUlENA UNIT, KANASKA DIVISIOn IN KANSAS <br /> <br />GENERAL <br /> <br />There are 5,350 acres with service available in the Almena Irrigation Dis- <br />trict. The 1[oject water supply is provided by Prairie Dog Creck flo~s <br />and Norton Reservoir storage. <br /> <br />The water service contract for the city of }Jorton, Kansas, provides for a <br />maximum annual use of 1,600 acre-feet from Norton Reservoir. <br /> <br />....-....;. <br /> <br />1974 SumlARY <br /> <br />j'--"'\' <br /> <br />The annual precipitation .at Norton Dam was 83 percent of nOrH'''l.
