GG 3'.)3 "

1975 OUTLOOK

The fall and early winter inflows into Enders Reservoir were about mid'Nay
between normal and dry-year forecasts. If dry-year conditions prevail,
the project water supply is €xpecced to be inadequate to irrigate 9,000
acres in Frenchman Valley Irrigation District and 11,000 acres in H & RW
Irrigation District. As much as 3,400 acre-feet are expected to be con-
served by pumping seepage into the Enders Reservoir.

.......

The control and stabilization program of the Frenchman River channel will
b~ contim.led in 1975. The State of Nebraska has completed the relocation
of U, S. Highway 6 in the Frenchman Valley involving several channel chan-
ges. These changes have resulted in a larger than normal accumulation of
silt in the desilting basin at the Culbertson Diversion Dam.

-< I

'.:..1

MEEKER-DRIfTl'iOOD, RED IHLLOW, AND CAHBRIDGE UNITS, FRENC~II1AN-CMlBRIDGE
DIVISION IN NEBRASKA

. These lakes provide excellent op-
portunities for fishing, water spo~ts, and recreation. The seepage below
Red 'wi.i.l.ow and Meciicine Creek Dams proviaes excelleut fishing.

......,.

Service is p~-ovided for Frenclunan-Cambridge Irrigation District by r-teeJ:::er-
Driftwood Canal to 16,476 acres; Red Willow Canal to 4,932 acres; Bartley
Can~l to 6,539 acres; and Cambridge Canal to 17,053 acres. The water sup-
ply for these larlds is provided by storage in Swanson, Hugh Butler, c_nd
Harry Strunk Lakes, and flows of the Republican River and Red Willow and
Medicine Creeks.

I
I

. .....,1

......

1974 SUMHARY

'..'
..

The precipitation at Trenton Darn was 89 ~ercent of normal and the inflow
to Swanson Lake was between the dry and normal year forecasts. This storage and the 1974 inflows furnished full water s~pplics to
project lands served by the Meeker-Driftwood and Bartley Canal systems.
The Frenchman-Cambridge Irrigation District diverted 39,716 acre-feet in-
to Meeker-Driftwood Canal to irrigate 16,156 acres, and 14,708 acre-feet
into Bartley Canal for 6,285 acres.

"::.:.."
;..- ,.'-:,

". ,':: ~

The precipitation at Red Willow Dam was 76 percent of normal while the
inflow into Hugh Butler Lake was equal to normal-year forecasts.
