The objective of this task is
to more precisely define these needs and to cany out the necessary additions and revisions
to the existing data sets. It is expected that most of the actual data development work will
be carried out as in-kind services by members of the Sponsors Committee.

Subtask 2.2.a: Define Data Needs

In this subtask me precise nature of required data revisions and additions will be
determined. .

Subtask 2.2.b: Data Set Development

In this sub-task, various members of the Sponsors Committee will assist Hydrosphere
in the necessary data gathering and processing identified in the previous task. The results .
of these efforts will be a set of computerized data sets that can be readily formatted for
incorporation into the Planning Model.

Subtask 2.3: ProgI"'mming and Unit Testing

[n this task, each subunit of the model identified in the programming specification
phase will be individually created and tested. This subunit approach will be used to reduce
the complexity of the whole project to a manageable level; however, the subunit approach
comes with the disadvantage that the overall needs may be overlooked. Thus, it is
critically important that the preceding programming specification task fully consider the
high- and low-level issues before programming commences.

Subtask 2.3.a: Identify Subtasks

The actual subtasks of this task cannot be listed without knowledge of the results
from the functional specification and the programming specification. Therefore, the first
subtask will be to identify the appropriate subtasks and assign these to Hydrosphere
personnel. These subtasks will correspond to functional and programming areas identified
in previous tasks.

.
