This task cannot be fully specified <br />without the output from the functional specification; nevertheless, some generic subtasks <br />can be identified. <br /> <br />Subtask 2. I.a: Design Model Details <br /> <br />The objective of this subtask will be to produce preliminary low-level designs to <br />accomplish the objectives of the functional specification. The overall design of the <br />software, including how each area or capability identified in the functional specification <br />will fit into the overall design, will be addressed in this subtask. In addition, the design <br />of each low-level modeling capability will be accomplished. Thus, both "top-down" and <br />"bottom-up" software design approaches will be used. This subtask will be accomplished <br />with a series of internal meetings and design memos at Hydrosphere. <br /> <br />Subtask 2.1.b: Produce Draft Programming Specification <br /> <br />After a series of internal design meetings and design memos, a draft programming <br />specification will be produced. This document will contain detailed information on low- <br />level software issues including data structures, explicit input and output needs, user <br />interface implementation, subunits, interfaces with other software utilities, etc. <br /> <br />Subtask 2.I.c: Internal Review of Draft Progr>lmming Specification <br /> <br />The draft programming specification will be subjected to a critical review at <br />Hydrosphere. The purpose of this review will be to uncover any discrepancies between the <br />objectives of the functional specification and the draft programming specification and to <br />uncover any logic flaws in the draft programming specification. A series of internal <br />meetings will provide a forum to uncover any problems in the draft document. <br /> <br />Subtask 2.I.d: Produce Final ProgI"mming Specification <br /> <br />The draft programming specifications will be revised to include the revisions arising <br />from Task 2.l.c. A final programming specification will be produced at the end of this <br />subtask and reviewed by the Sponsors Committee. <br />
